Missy Lee - Biography

Missy Lee is CEO of Alaska Floats & Skis Inc., a renowned training center for pilots in Talkeetna, Alaska.

She grew up in an aviation business alongside her father Don Lee, a legend in bush flying. From an early age, she spent many hours in the air. Leadership from the cockpit: clarity, experience, and inner attitude

Missy Lee compares the complex instrument panel of an aircraft with everyday business life: numbers, data, information – everything is important. But if you get lost in it, you lose sight of the big picture. Regular “instrument scans” are necessary – but even more important is looking outside. In a figurative sense, this means that those who take the lead must know their vision. The “True North Star” that provides orientation when things get turbulent.

Achieve your goals: The True North Star Story

Missy Lee speaks from her own experience: as a young pilot, she was often overwhelmed by all the displays in the cockpit. It was only when she learned to trust her intuition and focus on the big picture that she became a confident and clear pilot. Today, she transfers this skill to managers, teams, and entrepreneurs.

In her lectures, she shows how important an inner attitude of gratitude is. Her recommendation: “Don’t say, ‘I have to. ’ Say, ‘I get to. ’” Because this small change gives every task a new meaning. For her, flying is not just a job, but a calling—and a daily reminder of how valuable it is to have a clear view of what is essential.

Today, she runs her own company in Alaska, trains pilots and flight instructors, shapes the future of aviation – and inspires people worldwide not to lose sight of their own horizons.
