Natalie Amiri is one of Germany’s best-known journalists specializing in Iran and the Middle East. Who is Natalie Amiri?

Natalie Amiri was born in Munich in 1978 and grew up bilingual with Iranian-German roots. She studied Oriental studies and journalism, speaks fluent Persian, and spent many years in Iran. As head of the ARD studio in Tehran, she experienced firsthand the tensions between the desire for reform and repression. Her reporting regularly brought her into conflict with the authorities – and made her one of the most credible voices on the subject of Iran in Germany.

Her courage and investigative skills have also earned her numerous awards, including a Grimme Prize nomination for the documentary “Verschwunden in Deutschland” (Disappeared in Germany) and the German Television Award for investigative foreign reporting.

In addition to her journalistic work, Natalie Amiri is also a successful author, regular talk show host, and committed speaker.
